Welcome

Many are unsure if they have an addiction, or if they really are an alcoholic. Sometimes you drink too much, have regrets the next day, feel embarrassed about losing control and worry about your health.  Drinking and using to numb the pain leaves you feeling very alone. You are sick of hiding, of keeping secrets.  Should you stop altogether or figure out how to moderate?  I can help this exploration in a non-judgmental way to find answers.

Many people in recovery are often disappointed their ‘problems’ are not fixed; they feel stuck.  Relationship challenges persist, feeling empty is still present, depression and anxiety are not going away, and trust has not been repaired.

There is often much shame and embarrassment being in a relationship with someone who has an addiction or who is in recovery.  It is hard to talk with family and friends about this shame for fear of judgment.

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I specialize in Motivation Enhancement Therapy (MET).  This is a collaborative approach of meeting you where you are now and working together with motivational techniques where you feel respected, heard and validated while reaching the goals you set and NOT about imposing a one size fits all program.  People feel empowered from focusing on their strengths and building resources.  They feel more connected, unstuck, motivated to move forward, and hopeful.
